Weekly Committee Meetings: Tuesday, 8:00 PM in Social Science Building Room 241 – Open to Public

The Governmental Affairs Committee is charged with monitoring the College’s governmental issues, specifically where these duties pertain to students. The Committee, under the leadership of its Vice President, monitors the activities pertaining to college policies that deal with judicial structure, student conduct, and grievances. The Committee is also charged with handling various student organization matters, including pre-approving new organizations, revoking recognition of organizations, and approving organizations’ constitutional amendments via committee proceedings.  The Committee’s duty refers to its communications with appropriate governmental agencies and legislators in order to address students’ issues and concerns. In this way, the Committee lobbies state legislators on behalf of students of the College to affect higher education funding as well as other legislation that concerns public colleges.

We hope that you visit this page often throughout the year to check up on our exciting initiatives, events, and announcements. Please use this page as a resource to stay informed of the important work happening within the committee, and more importantly, use it as a way of keeping us informed of the issues and ideas important to you.

We continually strive to be effective student advocates as we represent TCNJ students on a local and statewide level. Please feel free to attend our committee meetings, which take place in BSC 231C (right next to the SG cube) at 8:30 PM every Tuesday night.
